Blog Advertising

Do you hate seeing advertisements on Blogs? Do you think it is an affront to honest posting? Are some forms of advertising OK? Do you have advertising on your Blog? Would advertisements for other Blogs fall into the same category?

I don't mind a few ads, although my eyes are trained to not even notice them.

The sites that bug me are the ones with more ads than content. There is one I saw where you had to scroll down the page to see the first piece of content!

I use google on individual entry pages, as that adds context. For my homepage I use Amazon and select specific categories. Originally I used Google but it was unable to keep track of the ever changing nature of the posts. This is a specific weekness of Google ads.

I use Blogads, and only run one ad at a time on my site, mostly because I don't want to overwhelm my actual content. And since it's under my control which ads appear, I can usually avoid getting too spam-like about it. Half the time it's just an ad for one charity or another anyway...

But as far as other people's sites, I don't mind advertising. And if I do, it's always my choice whether or not to stick around, right?

I won't do it. Especially for adsense. If I am going to sell-out, I am going to do it in huge fashion with a Mercedes dealer or something that will afford me to blog for a living. So in other words, it is not going to happen.

I don't have any ads on my blog, but I don't care if other people do, as long as the ads don't obscure the content, or irritate me.

I am for the ads as long as they promote the good work and are not misleading!

I have a few ads on my business related blogs, that's business.

I Use an ad blocker, so I don't even see my ads.

Ad blockers are so easy, if ads bug you, use one.

Of course I may miss nfl adam's Mercedes ad I wanted to see.

I don't think ads on blogs are out of line. At the end of the day, if I visit a site with good quality content, I want to click on their ads to support them. I mean, with Google Adsense, this is the first time that small publishers can get some money for their effots.

I'm not too keen on them either. Otoh, if my traffic continues to grow, and I have to up my spending for bandwidth, I may change my tune. I think they reduce credibility, but adsence and yahoo ads are less intrusive than most. Still, I would want to see NFL Adam's Mercedes ad, just becuase it would be cool!!!

I have ads on my sight. I will not use AdSense, I believe it is a rip-off, too foggy for me.

I am trying other ad servers. I also found from my readers that they find the ads useful to find out additional information. This may be peculiar to my site but many have expressed this thought.
